Side Effects of LOVE

Apparently from so many years Bollywood and Hollywood and other so many local woods movies has disgraced the meaning of Pyar(Love),
on the name of love they offers us sensuality, and awaken our passionate desires. Scriptures like Chaitanya Charitamrita gives us the real meaning of love, it says, "The desire to gratify one's own senses is kāma [lust], but the desire to please the senses of Lord Kṛṣṇa is prema [love]", from above quotation we understand that so called love in today's world is simply lust(exploitative tendency) but packaged as love. Many times I wonder why they say, " I love you", they should say, " I lust you",  because their intention is not love(serve) but lust(exploitation), After getting bombarded with such movies one starts searching for person who will satisfy his sensual desires on the name of love, but this so called love keeps the heart burning and never gets satisfied by any amount of sensual pleasures provided. One can remain away from this lust when one understand its consequences, just like when one understand nature and effects of poison he keeps himself away from it. Krsna in Gita calls lust as eternal enemy of soul.

When one falls in so called love (lust), one goes through following 5 side effects as explained by our scriptures very well,
1) Mohan (infatuation)- this is primary stage, which causes one to get fascinated by form of opposite sex. Its said that first glance is innocence second deliberate and third is prey.
2) Stambhana ( stunned) - one forgets everything and focus on that person.
3) Unmadana (becomes mad)- one becomes intoxicated by activities and form of opposite sex and one goes mad many times.
4) Shoshan - one's whole energy is sucked in thought of lover due to intense attraction.
5) Tapan (burning) - and due to unfulfilled expectations heart burns.
Last and the worst is Maran( death) - one kills oneself and the lover when there is denial in reciprocation from lover and unfulfillment of desires, we have seen so many examples of people killing themselves and their lover or attacking lover.

So let's examine ourselves that if at all we are in lust, at what stage we are now ? And how to avoid the progressive stages, so that we can cultivate pure love for God and His children and remain away from side effects of lust.

Sree Padmanabha swamy Temple

Sree Padmanabha swamy Temple

The origin of the Temple of Sree Padmanabhaswamy is lost in antiquity. It is not possible to determine with any exactitude, from any reliable historical documents or other sources as to when and by whom the original idol of Sree Padmanabhaswamy was consecrated.

The Temple has references in Epics and Puranas. Srimad Bhagavatha says that Balarama visited this Temple, bathed in Padmatheertham and made several offerings. Nammalwar, 9th century poet and one among the 12 vaishnavite saints of the Alvar tradition, has composed ten hymns in praise of Lord Padmanabha. Some well known scholars, writers and historians, like the Late Dr. L.A.Ravi Varma of Travancore, have expressed the view that this Temple was established on the first day of Kali Yuga (which is over 5000 years ago). The legends of the Temple are handed down through the centuries.

Science of "Namaste"

Science of 'Namaste' -
The Namaste is the one of the classic gestures of Hindus and buddhists. It is usually seen as the gesture of respect. But joining both hands while doing Namaste invoves joining all your fingertips. Pressing them together is said to activate the pressure points which helps us remember the person for a long time.

Don't forget to teach this to your children.

Hare Krishna , Kali Yuga Predictions

Despite all of the dark prophecies, there is one good quality in this age of Kali yuga:
kaler dosha-nidhe rajann
asti hy eko maha gunah
kirtanad eva krishnasya
mukta-sangah param vrajet
“Although Kali-yuga is an ocean of faults, there is still one good quality about this age: simply by chanting the names of Krishna, one can become free from material bondage and be promoted to the transcendental kingdom.” (Source: Srimad Bhagavatam 12.3.51)
So let us take advantage of this special spiritual gift given during the dark times of Kali yuga to quickly raise ourselves spiritually through chanting of God’s holy names.
